Visas, insurance and health

Visas

The following information is for our Nepal tour. Visa information for other tours will be listed on each tour itinerary.

It is currently possible for UK passport holders and passport holders from many other countries to obtain a visa on arrival in Kathmandu Airport: it’s quite a simple process of completing a short form and handing it in, together with payment of $25 (for a 15 day visa) $40 (for a 30 day visa) and a passport sized photograph. Forms for your visa are on entrance into the airport. If you prefer, you can obtain a visa prior to travel however allow time for this, as it can take several weeks. Please visit www.nepembassy.org.uk for information. You need a single entry Tourist Visa. You must have a 10 year passport with at least 6 months unexpired after the end of our trip - don’t get caught out by having a passport with less than six months before expiry.

Insurance

Adequate travel insurance is essential. It is your responsibility to obtain insurance that covers all activities detailed on this trip. Helicopter rescue cover is very useful as roads can be slow and remote, so please arrange this cover if possible. We also advise you consider travel insurance that provides cover against holiday cancellation or curtailment. You will need to bring your holiday insurance details, including policy number and emergency telephone number to Nepal. In Pokhara various local agents offer adventure sports such as paragliding, micro-lighting and water rafting. These activities fall outside the remit of this tour, and we take no responsibility for your safety if you decide to participate in them. If you would like to take part in any adventure sports it is advisable you have proper insurance. Note that many tour operators in Nepal on TripAdvisor, may not exist. Hotels and agencies across Asia often create their own ‘critical acclaim’ through false id’s. It’s best to book locally. We cannot take responsibility for providing you with insurance.

Health

We cannot advise on medical vaccinations and the like as this can be different for each client based on personal circumstances. It’s vital that you visit your doctor or travel clinic to take advice.
